There are no laws in Ohio stating how much sleep a caregiver has to have.
As a matter of fact, except for commercial drivers, pilots, and train crew, there aren’t laws that govern the amount of rest anybody has to have.
Working a 12 hour shift and having to stay over another five and a half hours is asking a lot of an employee, though. You are surely entitled to overtime pay, and may want to consider having a conversation with your employer about those hours you’re expected to work.
