Cancer Drug Shows Hope For Alzheimer’s
A skin-cancer drug has shown some success in treating Alzheimer’s disease in mice, according to a study in Science. Alzheimer’s is thought to be caused by the build-up of protein fragments called amyloid-beta in the brain; the drug helped to clear the protein in the animals, and, more significantly, improved their cognitive, social and olfactory performance.
