My Grandpa was just put in a nursing home. He suffers from dementia, and I was trying to think of activites (preferably solo) for him. Some hand-held game ideas or something?
Oh, and just and FYI, he’s mainly in the nursing home temporarily for his severe broncitis, not his dementia. And we visit, but we can’t be there 24/7. So when we aren’t there, i wanted some ideas for him to entertain him.

My mom and I are going to be flying to CA to see her and my grandpa while she still remembers who we are. she is going down hill very fast, she is calling grandpa dad, she thinks that they are house sitting and keeps asking where the other people are, she tried to go surfing in the water spiket, and she tried to use make up as mouth wash. She loves Elvis Presley, she loves reading psalms and poems. What can I expect to experience while I’m there, and how can I help her?

HI, i just went to church yesterday and was confirmed, One of my grandfathers passed away when i was only five years old from alzheimers disease and my other grandpa passed away before i ever got a chance to meet him and it saddens me because i always see pictures of him and see how such a wonderful man he was back in his lifetime.

Also the past two months have been pretty rough because my aunt rhoda passed away from heart disease and concolations and my dads cousin passed away at age 60 of lung cancer because he smoked even when he found out he had it!

So will i see these long lost loved ones of mine with my lord god in heaven and will they be happy to see me?

She’s 9 yrs old and she’s developed anxiety since about 2 months ago. Since then, she’s been throwing temper tantrums, she’s angry, etc. I barely have any time alone because she’s very clingy and will not allow anyone to babysit her except her grandma. But grandma must take care of grandpa who has Alzheimers. I’m a single mom and I feel so lonely these days. I cry a lot because of her condition and I just feel stuck. No rude comments, please. Any advice or suggestions?
I don’t want to breakdown myself but she’s really taking everything I’ve got. I give her more than she needs and it feels as though it’s never good enough.

my grandpa on my dads side died of Alzheimer’s at age 80 and my mom has Alzheimer’s she has had it for 7 yrs. she is going to be 63 in a few months somebody else on my moms side has Alzheimer’s also.
does that mean that i have a 50 percent chance of getting it?

she has aggressive alzheimers,my moms been taking care of her for 1 1/2 yrs.since my grandpa died she’s punching people and threatening lives,they had to pick up the knives and put a lock on my brother and his wifes room they have a small baby.my sis-in-law was turn with her back to her holding the baby and my grandma was yelling at her then punched her in the back,while holding the baby.

My mother has been caring for her father for over a year. However, her sister is the POA and has throughly abused the position by removing money from his account for her and other siblings, not depositing his tax return, convinced my grandpa (diagnosed with Alzheimers) to sign for her to become durable POA, etc. My mother doesn’t have a lot of money. What are her options in stopping this? Or taking the position of POA?

My house this last week has just been my mom, dad, and little brother screaming at each other constantly. I’ve stayed out of it, but I know the whole cause of the problem is my dad and brother. Beside that, I’ve been helping my grandpa fix his plumbing, and visiting my grandma with alzheimer’s who just broke her hip in the hospital. Not to mention, my five ap classes have all been giving me homework every night of the week(I’m a senior in highschool) and I want to keep an A in all of them. I try scheduling my day but often times there just isn’t enough hours to do everything. I don’t get a break, and I’m so stressed it is crazy. What can I do?

First of all thank you to all that have answered ALL of my questions, because I have posted quite a few lately. My grandpa was diagnosed yesterday with Pancreatic cancer, and it has spread from last month….they did a CT scan last month and then Friday…there is nothing they can do, he has Alzheimers disease, and physically not able to handle any type of treatment. He is being discharged from the hospital on hospice…what should I expect in the last days? How long does somebody survive from the cancer after it has spread? Thank you for your answers!
