Hello, Im looking for another job in health care but I dont know where to look. I got 3 years experience in dinng services and Nursing assistant. 2 months in caregiving. I know Im crazy for not taking my certification test but by march I will take it. I live in huntsville,al. Im 22 kids but i strill want to make good hours oor salary..any ideas?? thanks

I used to be a CNA but I didn’t really care for it. I’ve been doing caregiving and health care for around 5 years now and I don’t want to be a nurse. Has anyone gone through what I’m going through?!? I’m so stuck and I want a stable job instead of doing in home care. It’s a tough economy and there’s not a lot of jobs so any advice on careers? I wouldn’t mind hearing your stories or advice! She has been dealing with all this on her own except from the help of her elderly father who is well into his eighties. I am not allowed to participate in her health care what so ever, Reason being she is not aware of her daughter’s lesbian relationship with me. We have been together 24 yrs. but this situation is reaching a breaking point. I never get to my see partner and when I do she is exhausted, overwhelmed and angry at her siblings non response to helping her emotionally, physically or financially. I always receive the complete breakdown of my partner whom is also bi-polar. Those days and nights are a living nightmare. There are support groups for people taking care of people with special needs. However, where are the support groups for the people that take care of the aftermath? I love my partner but i’m at at my wits end. Where to partners of care takers get support?

on the 27th of may,they were never separated and deeply in love with each other.i heard from two people that the spouse that was left dies within 3 months of his wife or her husband,how true is this? my dad is 96 and as frail as a baby he has alzheimers disease pretty bad,hes taken my moms death extremely hard.he will not adhere to the health care nurses orders ,and doesnt want to eat but the aide stands ovr him til he eats everything.

I will be living with as a room mate with a 44 year old women with dementia . She receives SSI payments, and medi-cal health care.
I’m not able to find on the web any reference to a care giver receiving any financial compensation for this 24/7 work.
