Grey's Anatomy Poll/Question: WHOSE side are you ON: Meredith or Derek SPOILER ALERT?
In the most recent episode, it was revealed that Meredith got caught for tampering with the Alzheimer’s clinical trial study, by letting the Chief’s wife have the medication/treatment even though she wasn’t supposed to. Derek told Meredith he didn’t want to be with her anymore because he couldn’t be with someone who thought that it was OK to mess around with the clinical trial that way. Are you on Derek’s side or are you on Meredith’s side?

In a Care giving situation what should be done here?
I think I know the answer but i’d like to see what you think?
Which statement is INCORRECT?
A. The personal care assistant may get a pill bottle from a cabinet and bring the bottle to the client at the clients request.
B. The care asistant should observe and document if the client takes his medication
C. If the nurse or family forgets, the care assistant may take the right dose of medicine out of the bottle and give it to the patient with alzheimers.
Im thinking C?
Would it not be nice to tell my father-in-law that his wife should get checked for Alzheimer's?
First I’ll tell you that I’m a special education teacher. My first thought when I met my mother-in-law is that she has mild autism. But I recently saw something on the news and I would like her to get checked out for alzheimer’s. She seems to have all the traits of someone well into the condition.
She makes up these insane lies. For example she told my husband that I told her to come over to our house at 5 to help me clean, she got here and I didn’t answer the door, and she called 3 times on my home and cell phone. In reality she wanted to come see the kids at noon (no cleaning mentioned) and she never called the home phone or my cell once. She’s lived in the same city (a suburb) her whole life and she gets lost going to the grocery store. She has a GPS and was shown how to use it a couple dozen times (it was set up so she can just turn it on and push 1 button to find her way home) and she still can’t do it on her own— keep in mind she’s only 60… not 90.
I’ve asked my husband if he can say something to his dad about her getting help and he took it as an attack. My husband pretty much takes everything that isn’t praise as if it’s an attack though.
Should I call my father-in-law, tell him that I’m concerned, and see if he can take her to the doctor? Or is that crossing a line? I told my husband that if that were my mom that I would be sure that she get the help and medication she needed. I would do whatever it takes to make sure her health is the best possible. My father-in-law and I have a good relationship, but much like my husband he too can take things the wrong way and get super defensive over everything.
Does my great aunt have Alzheimer's?
While she is drying dishes, she would come to a ladle and ask, "Where do I put this?"
She would say, "It’s time for my medication, when she already took it."
When she was being read an address (555 Oak St) to write down, she asked, "How do you write 555?"
I’m wondering if she may have early signs of Alzheimers, shes 70 years old.

What's going to happen to my brother in law for leaving his alzheimers mom alone for a day by herself?
My husbands brother has been taking care of his mom for quite some time now, we live in another state and my husband and his brother don’t get along very well. well apparently he went on a cruise and made arrangments for his neighbor to check on her and for a friend to come for 3days and give her medication each day and come each night to put her to bed. They made sure the gas was off and blocked off the stairway. Well my husband is livid and we had to fly in because apparently she got out of the house and was in the neighbors house and they called the police. What do you think is going to happen to them? This is in illinois if it makes a difference.
I am specifically looking to see if it is against the law?
What Can I Do For My Mum?
Both my grandparents are in care homes. My granddad was diagnosed with Parkinsonisms (a disease which mimicks Parkinson’s Disease) and Vascular Dementia. My gran was having to care for him and we later found out she has Alzheimers. My gran is in a Care Home and my grandad is in a Nursing Home. My mum has had to do a lot for them over the past few years, and it has been hard on her. The slow deterioration of these diseases makes it harder to deal with I think. My mum has 2 siblings who scoot the responsibilty over to my mum.
I have noticed over the past few months that my mum is more stressed than even before. She is in an almost permanent bad mood, constantly moaning, shouting. She’s also prone to emotional outbursts lately. My dad agrees with this and when we’ve tried to tell her to maybe get some medication to help, she says she doesn’t need it, and that she’s like this because of what she’s going through.
I don’t know what we can do to help her. It would also help me and my dad because it is hard dealing with my mum at the moment! I’m really not sure what action we should take with this, and I understand how hard this is on her because I’ve been living with it aswell for the last few years, I just think there must be something that can help her.
I’d really appreciate it if someone could suggest anything that they know might help?

well she has never wondered off before and I guess it is pretty advanced and they made arrangements for one friend to come over in morning one in afternoon and one at night.
