Can anyone tell me what to expect from Parkinson's Disease?
I am a care giver for someone who has this disease and I see his anger, depression and weakness. He is on a medicine now that has helped but, I just who like to have some idea as to what to expect for his future and mine. Any help would be appreciated.
Does anybody have any experience with alzheimer's disease?
My 90-year-old mother was just diagnosed with dementia. It came on suddenly, but we think that she has been hiding it.
She is striking out, refusing care, confused, disoriented, sad, crying, withdrawn, and agitated. She has to be watched 24 hours a day because she wants to keep throwing herself out of bed or the wheelchair.
This is so sad to see.
She is currently on western medications. I know it takes awhile to get into the system. Has anybody had any success with alternative medicine, i.e. herbs or acupuncture?
Thank you.

Why are Alzheimer's rates higher in developed countries?
I recently looked at a map of the disability-adjusted life year rates from Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related diseases. I was shocked to see that developed nations like America and many countries in Western Europe had very high rates of Alzheimer’s. Is there a reason for this? I would assume it’s because of the long life-spans here, but I would have thought that proper diets and accessibility to medicine would counteract it. Thanks for any answers!

Parkinsons, Alzheimers, diabetes, kidney failure, liver failure… seems like some people go to hospital so often. I mean did we have all these problems in the past ? Maybe in the past people just died if they had any sickness, but today due to advances in medicine, people live longer even though they have some sickness… what do you think ?

Should there be an age limit on the Presidency? ?
The Constitution requires a President to be 35 years or older. Experience is never mentioned. Not every senator could run for the Presidency because the native born requirement does not hold for the Senate.
Due to advances in modern medicine people do live longer, however, medicine has not made the same progress in stopping mental deterioration, so Alzheimers and other diseases of age are more prevalent. Should there be a standard "upper age" limit for the office?
Why, and if so, how would that age be determined?
