My mom has Alzheimers, a colostomy bag and a feeding tube. I can’t bear the thought of nursing homes. If I could get my hands on ,000.00 that I didn’t have to pay back, I could pay off all my debts and move back to my mom’s home and take care of her. Are there any organizations out there that I could contact to get help? I’ve tried explaining my situation to my creditors but they seem to not care or maybe not believe me. I’ve always paid my way in this world even through the hard times. My mother raised me that way. Now she needs me and I’m so close to being debt free with my current budget, but she needs me now. I don’t know where to turn. Can someone give me some advice or suggestions? I’m not asking for a handout or trying to renig on my responsibilities. Just looking for an honest way to help the woman who brought me into this world, loved me, raised me and made me who I am. I want to do the right thing, return her love and care.

My mother had a stroke last year and also suffers from advanced alzheimers diesease. Since then she has been living with myself and my three children. While I love her to death I cant deal with her day to day care anymore. I know how she feels about nursing homes and living centers but I cant do it anymore and I need to tell her that I have decided that a living center would be best for everyone. Taking care of her has really taken a toll on me physically and mentally. How should I approach her about my decision? Considering how incompetent she is at the moment should I allow her to be a part of the decision making process as far as which home she goes to and things like that? I dont want her to feel like I am just dumping her out somewhere and I want her to be happy. I dont have any other family that would be capable of caring for her and she has become a danger to herself.

Still living in a senior living apartment with 24/7 caregivers. Great health other than Alzheimers. Great care, better than nursing homes, but will run out of money for this care in 15 months.
