#10.5 Dealing with Alzheimer’s
www.caregiverstress.com — In this video, certified senior advisor Mary Alexander from Home Instead Senior Care explains Alzheimer’s and other dementia and offers specific techniques for coping with a loved one who has dementia. Many family caregivers care for a parent or spouse who is suffering from some sort of dementia, which requires a great deal of time and patience. Can I work imdependently as a caregiver without being employed by an agency?
I am very good in caregiving(seniors) and have lots of caregiving experience. Is there anyway I can do inorder to become an independent or let’s say self-employed caregiver without being employed by home care agencies? Can I get a license or permit to do that? And if I can a license, how much does it costs. I appreciate very much your answers. May God bless you.
What will happen to the elderly in 2022 when they have to try to buy health insurance on the open market?
1. Conservatives want to get rid of the new health bill prohibiting insurance companies from denying insurance to people with pre-existing conditions, yet most seniors have had something by the time they are 65 – will that mean we will have seniors dying in the streets (like what was happening before Medicare).
I am old enough to remember my great-aunt, a widow whose only child died in a car accident. My father spent his retirement money to pay for her care as she died of Alzheimers. Fortunately for my dad, when my grandmother got old, she had Medicare, so he was able to start saving again – but he never got back to where he had been before.
Is anyone else absolutely furious about getting rid of Medicare?
@Chris R – I do hope you are being sarcastic… Nobody will sell an affordable health insurance policy to a senior citizen with pre-existing conditions!

Your best idea please?
I live in a small town with more seniors then younger people. There are alot of wealthy people here to. I am looking to start my own at home business and am thinking about catering to the seniors. What would be a good business to start with little money that would have a big impact on that generation? Any ideas or thoughts would be good. I have some in mind, but would like other opinions. There are alot of caregiving businesses and people who run errands. I am looking for something unique but powerful. Thank you!
