what are the chances of getting alzheimer's?
My mom passed away at age 50 of early-onset alzheimer’s disease, she was diagnosed with it about 4 years prior to her death but was evident that it had been affecting her for quite awhile before that. They said it was a rare form of dementia and probably inherited. My grandmothers, both my mom’s mom and my dad’s mom, were diagnosed with alzheimer’s disease. What are my chances of getting alzheimer’s disease? Also, I’m female and I read somewhere that more females contract alzheimer’s than males, but I’m not sure if that’s true.
Yes, you are high-risk for early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
Sorry. There are strong genetic markers for Alzheimer’s … and yes it IS true that females are more likely than males to show Alzheimer’s symptoms.
Start taking curcumin (Turmeric) 900 mg, twice a day. Also, autoimmune pernicious anaemia runs in families and can be misdiagnosed as Alzheimer’s Disease.
"People who develop Alzheimer’s disease get a sticky plaque in the brain called amyloid beta," explained Kilham to Dr. Manny Alvarez in a recent Fox News interview. Such plaques either develop as a result of Alzheimer’s, or they are the direct cause of it. But either way, they are directly related to the degenerative process.
However studies show that turmeric actually eliminates these plaques, both when they are first starting to form and even during the late stages of their advancement.
"What we have in turmeric is something that appears to inhibit the development of Alzheimer’s disease…and actually help to reduce the occurrence of plaque in the brain if you have it," noted Kilham. "We know in animal studies, when animals actually have amyloid beta plaque in their brains and they’re given turmeric root…that plaque is reduced.
Observational studies have also shown that people groups who eat large amounts of turmeric virtually never get Alzheimer’s.
"In countries where people consume a lot of [turmeric], there’s a very low incidence of Alzheimer’s disease," emphasized Kilham. "In India and Southeast Asia, it’s a rare disease. And [in the U.S.] it’s very, very common."

"Unfortunately, even testing for Vitamin B12 deficiency has major pitfalls and is not always accurate. A simple blood test or in-home urine test called a Methylmalonic Acid Test , also called an MMA is the MOST accurate test for vitamin B12 deficiency and really should always be done on every single person before being given the diagnoses of:
* Dementia
* Alzheimer’s Disease
* Peripheral Neuropathy
* Multiple Sclerosis
or
* Mental Illness of any kind
